Happy Birthday J Bella!

She celebrated all weekend long...I'll give you the run down!

Friday we had to bring in this cookie cake to share with friends and teachers at school. They had never seen one of these - and to think they're in every grocery store in Indiana!

K was jealous that he didn't get a piece of the cookie, so my girl and I made him one that night just because we love him! Too bad he had to eat pink icing, but he didn't complain! The other colors were saved for the big party on Sunday where the girls were to decorate their own cupcakes per J's request.

Saturday morning she opened gifts and received some crafts, some clothes, and more crafts from us.

Sunday was the big party where we had invited 7 friends and they all came to celebrate! We had a long list of arts and crafts to keep these 5-6 year olds busy. J wanted them to all decorate their own cupcakes. Some drenched their cupcakes with sugar - oh what fun! They also made bracelets, puzzles, bookmarks, and their own mosaic pictures. Sticky mosaics won the favorite activity award. These things are wonderful! My kids just love them and they are occupied by them for a few hours at a time. We sent the girls home with these mosaics and hopefully enough stickers to complete their pictures.
Above they're making puzzles and below are the bracelets.
Here are the bookmarks.
Each one had a different decorating style for their cupcakes. Some loaded on the different icings, others stuck to one color and added on the sugar with sprinkles.

We made it through the afternoon just fine...although at one point I did see my husband sitting on the couch in another room just staring out the window. I asked if he was okay and he replied, "Yes, I just needed to decompress for a few minutes. There are a lot of girls in there." And when there are a lot of girls together you'll hear lots of talking and giggling. Apparently that was a little too much for him.

Adorable! It looks like they had a great time. I have never heard of sticky mosaics and had to Google them - very cool. Happy Birthday, J!
